The video discusses testing viral smoke grenade recipes, ranking them from worst to best based on three criteria: how fast and easy they are to make, how easy it is to obtain the materials, and how powerful the smoke grenade is. The first recipe made with potassium nitrate and sugar scored a 10 on simplicity, 6 on ingredients, and 6 on power due to the smoke shooting straight up. The second recipe with melted wax scored a 9 on power, 6 on ingredients, and 8 on simplicity. The last recipe with potassium nitrate, corn syrup, sugar, baking soda, and candle wax was impressive but turned out more like a rocket due to insufficient sugar.
Hey guys, welcome back. Today I'm going to be testing viral smoke grenade recipes, starting with this one right here that I've made with zero experience. I'm going to be ranking them from worst to best, and showing you guys how I made them. So for a smoke grenade to be the best, I'm going to classify it with three steps. The first one is how fast is it to make, how easy it is to obtain the materials, and how powerful the smoke grenade is. Starting with this one that I made in about 15 seconds. 50% potassium nitrate and 50% sugar. Let's do it. All of these are very simple to make. All you're going to need to light them is a blowtorch, a match, anything that's a flame really. Let's do it. So it performed pretty well overall. I'm going to go ahead and give it a 10 on how simple it is to make, how fast it is to make. I'm going to give it a 6 out of 10 on the ingredients, because a lot of people won't have access to potassium nitrate. You can just pick it up at your local hardware store though. And lastly, for how powerful it was, I'm going to have to give it a 6 out of 10. The problem with it is it was too hot, so most of the smoke just shot up straight in the sky, which it looks cool, but it's not good for a smoke grenade. You want the smoke to spread out and lay on the ground. Okay, here we have our next smoke grenade. It's the same thing as the last one, except this time we have melted wax on top of it. So …

You want the smoke to spread out and lay on the ground. Okay, here we have our next smoke grenade. It's the same thing as the last one, except this time we have melted wax on top of it. So you're going to take your smoke grenade, melt wax, and then mix the ingredients together. Let's go ahead and light it. Alright, two comments on that one. It was pretty powerful. It was significantly smaller than the last one. That's why it didn't produce as much smoke. Also, because there was outside air, it wasn't sealed. It's not going to become as powerful. Okay, so I'm going to give that one a 9 out of 10 on the power. It would be a lot better if you were to make it right. I'm going to give it the same rating, a 6 out of 10 on the ingredients, because most people are going to have wax at their house. And lastly, I'm going to give it an 8 out of 10 on simplicity. Okay, so this is my last recipe. I got it off of Ordnance Lab, so make sure you go ahead and watch their video. But it's 180 grams of potassium nitrate, 69 grams of corn syrup, which I don't have right now in here because I don't have any. But if you were to add it, it would make it a lot better. 51 grams of sugar, 30 grams of baking soda, 15 grams of candle wax. And then you're going to go ahead and melt it in a pot just like this over a low heat heating pad. Once the sugar turns brown, you know you're good. And if you want, you can add more of the mixture inside of it and keep on stirring it. And then you're going to go ahead and light it. Wow, that is impressive. All right, that was crazy. Obviously, I didn't have enough sugar, so it was much more of a rocket than a smoke grenade. But if I did have sugar, all of that fire would be turned into smoke. And we did lose a lot of energy because of the fire, so it would have been a lot more smoke. And like I said earlier, because there's so much fire, most of the smoke just shot straight up. It's pretty cool.
